Understanding financing pathways for adaptive driving equipment
Mobility equipment can play a critical role in driving independence, but costs are not always fully covered by insurance. Driver Rehabilitation Center of Excellence does not offer financing or funding, but we share this information to help individuals understand commonly referenced third-party financing pathways used in the mobility industry.
This page is for informational purposes only and does not represent an offer, approval, or guarantee of financing.
Once an individual has identified the mobility equipment or accessories recommended to support safe and independent driving, some people explore third-party financing options to help manage costs over time.
These financing options are provided by independent financial institutions or mobility providers, not DRCE.
Third-party financing is sometimes considered when:
Adaptive equipment or accessories are not fully covered by insurance
Upfront costs or deductibles are difficult to pay at once
Individuals prefer to spread costs over time as part of long-term planning
DRCE’s role is limited to providing clinical recommendations, evaluations, and cost estimates when requested by an outside financing provider.
Some mobility providers partner with healthcare financing companies, such as CareCredit, to offer payment-over-time options for eligible purchases.
These programs are:
Offered and administered by third parties
Subject to credit approval and lender terms
Not managed, approved, or guaranteed by DRCE
Individuals exploring these options may encounter features such as:
Promotional financing offers (when available)
Prequalification tools that may not impact credit scores
Credit decisions determined by the lender
No annual fee on some financing products
DRCE does not control program availability, approval decisions, or financing terms.
While we do not provide financing, our team can help by:
Completing driver evaluations and clinical assessments
Recommending appropriate adaptive equipment
Providing documentation or estimates required by outside programs
Coordinating next steps once funding or financing is secured
