A: A driver evaluation is conducted by a qualified therapist with specialized training in driving rehabilitation (Certified Driving Rehab Specialist – CDRS). This evaluation consists of both clinical assessments and an on-road assessment to determine your driving abilities.
A: Immediately following your evaluation, the CDRS will review the results with you and provide recommendations. Within seven days, DRCE will issue a written report to the individuals or entities you have authorized via written consent, such as your doctor or the Department of Motor Vehicles.
A: Coverage varies. While it is uncommon for insurance to classify a driver evaluation as “medically necessary,” we can assist you in navigating your insurance company’s claim submission and reimbursement process.

A: No. Our driver assessment and training vehicles are specially equipped with dual brakes and adaptive driving equipment to accommodate individuals with physical limitations. These vehicles are also fully insured for evaluation and training purposes.

A: Yes! We accept prescriptions from any Certified Driving Rehab Specialist (CDRS).
A: The short answer is it depends. For driver applications, we require a copy of your driver’s license and a prescription from a Certified Driving Rehab Specialist (CDRS) if you do not have your required equipment endorsed on your license. If the desired modification is not in the driver’s position, we may only recommend an equipment consultation to ensure we are providing the appropriate solution.
A: No. We can use the endorsements on your license in lieu of a prescription. However, we are required to install equipment as it’s endorsed on your license. If you’re interested in changing your equipment, you may need to obtain an updated prescription. If you’re not sure, give us a call and we can help you determine what you need.
A: Typically, insurance won’t cover these modifications. However, if your insurance company will approve it, we are willing to work with them if they are willing to work with us.
A: Completion time varies greatly, depending on the amount of equipment being installed in the vehicle. Your Auto Adaptive Equipment Sales Manager or Service Advisor will help you understand your timeline so you can plan accordingly.
A: We warranty the labor on the installation for 1 year. Parts and equipment warranties vary by manufacturer, but they all carry some form of warranty. Your Auto Adaptive Equipment Sales Manager or Service Manager can answer specific manufacturer warranty questions.
A: Adaptive driving equipment sold on Amazon is not regulated or certified by any governing body. In contrast, the equipment we install comes from QAP-accredited manufacturers, ensuring it meets rigorous safety and quality standards. As a QAP-accredited installer, we are required to thoroughly test and inspect all equipment we install, guaranteeing its reliability and proper functionality. Purchasing uncertified equipment online may compromise safety, performance, and compatibility with your vehicle.

A: New vans come with warranties and the most up-to-date technology. Used vans are less expensive but may have some wear and tear and possibly outdated technology.
A: New vans can range from $60,000 to $100,000. A used van can cost anywhere from $20,000 to approximately $60,000.
